Portunities to attract UK investment in Danang and Danang Hi-tech Park

The Danang People’s Committee together with the British Business Group Vietnam (BBGV) held a workshop to discuss opportunities for economic cooperation between Danang and the UK on June 3rd at the Danang Administrative Center. Attending the meeting has Ian Gibbons – UK Consul General in HCM city, UK Investment and Trade in Vietnam, Danang local departments and businesses of BBGV and businesses in Danang.

At the event, UK Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Ian Gibbons said that Danang is a very important partner of the UK; therefore, we bring representatives of UK businesses to Danang city to develop the bilateral partnership between Danang and the UK. We focus not only on the strengths of UK enterprises but also those of Danang for mutual development”.  He adds that Danang is one of the provinces that have a strategic location in Vietnam with a well-developed infrastructure, a promising investment environment, especially in hi-tech, IT and telecommunications, and in startup ecosystem, and he believes in the future growth of their trade ties. 
Kenneth Atkinson – President of BBGV states that BBGV currently has 480 members in Vietnam. Through this workshop, these enterprises expect to seek for business opportunities in Danang.  
Mr. Lam Quang Minh – Director of Danang Department of Foreign Affairs said room for the development of bilateral partnerships remains extensive, adding that Danang is committed to creating favorable conditions for British investors. 
At the workshop, to remark the initial cooperation between both sides, Danang Hi-tech Park Management Board and the British Business Group Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, thereby, to expand opportunities for trade and investment promotion in Danang Hi-tech Park.
